US to Implement Seabird Avoidance Measures in Pacific Coast Groundfish Fishery

The US National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) will implement a Seabird Avoidance Program in the Pacific Coast Groundfish Fishery to minimize the take of endangered short-tailed albatross, following a 2012 biological opinion that mandated the use of seabird avoidance measures by vessels over 55 feet in length.
