US Fish and Wildlife Service Lists Six Marine Species Under Endangered Species Act

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has completed a 12-month review of seven foreign marine species, including the Eastern Taiwan Strait Indo-Pacific humpback dolphin, dusky sea snake, Banggai cardinalfish, Harrisson's dogfish, and three corals, under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). The review found that the Eastern Taiwan Strait Indo-Pacific humpback dolphin does not warrant listing, while the Banggai cardinalfish and Harrisson's dogfish are proposed for listing as threatened species, and the dusky sea snake, Cantharellus noumeae, Siderastrea glynni, and Tubastraea floreana are proposed for listing as endangered species.
