Social Security Administration Launches CBSV Service for Private Businesses and Government Agencies

The Social Security Administration (SSA) offers a fee-based Social Security number (SSN) verification service called Consent Based Social Security Number Verification (CBSV), which allows private businesses and government agencies to verify SSNs with the holder's consent. To use CBSV, interested parties must pay a one-time non-refundable enrollment fee of $5,000.
