NRC Proposes Amendment to Spent Fuel Storage Regulations for Holtec International's HI-STORM UMAX Canister Storage System

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is proposing to add the Holtec International HI-STORM Underground Maximum Capacity (UMAX) Canister Storage System, Certificate of Compliance No. 1040, to its list of approved spent fuel storage casks, which will provide an underground storage option compatible with the Holtec International HI-STORM FLOOD/WIND System (CoC No. 1032).
