FDA Amends Regulations to Implement Drug Shortages Provisions
The FDA is requiring manufacturers of certain drugs and biological products to notify the agency electronically of permanent discontinuance or interruption in manufacturing, which may lead to a significant disruption in supply, particularly for blood and blood components.
