The change is necessary to accommodate the expansion of the Charleston City Marina and meet the requirements of 33 CFR 109.10. The change will ensure that there is sufficient space to accommodate vessels desiring to anchor in the area, while allowing a sufficient buffer between the federal channel and special anchorage.
