Delegation of Authority to Settle Administrative Tort Claims Under the Federal Tort Claims Act

The Secretary of Defense has been granted authority to settle administrative tort claims worth less than $500,000, as per the Federal Tort Claims Act, and this new directive aims to inform the public and document the delegation in the Code of Federal Regulations.
