DEA Temporarily Schedules Isotonitazene as Schedule I Controlled Substance

The Acting Administrator of the Drug Enforcement Administration has temporarily placed N,N-diethyl-2-(2-(4 isopropoxybenzyl)-5-nitro-1H-benzimidazol-1-yl)ethan-1-amine, commonly known as isotonitazene, in Schedule I due to concerns over public safety, imposing strict regulatory controls and penalties on those who handle the substance.
