U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to Reestablish Wood Bison in Alaska

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, in partnership with the State of Alaska, plans to reintroduce the endangered wood bison to its historical habitat in central Alaska, with the goal of establishing a nonessential experimental population and managing the species under the Endangered Species Act of 1973.
