FMCSA Amends Hours of Service of Drivers Rule to Exempt Short-Haul Drivers

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has amended its 2011 rule on Hours of Service of Drivers to exempt short-haul drivers from the 30-minute rest break requirement, as ordered by the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. The change removes outdated regulatory text from the rule, which was set to expire on July 1, 2013.
