ATR-GIE Avions de Transport Régional Proposes Supersession of Airworthiness Directive AD 2009-18-18 for ATR42 and ATR72 Airplanes

ATR-GIE Avions de Transport Régional proposes to supersede AD 2009-18-18, which requires repetitive inspections for damage and replacement of cockpit forward side windows, due to reports of a cockpit forward right-hand side blow out during flight, and to expand its applicability to detect and correct air/water leakage, potentially leading to rapid cabin decompression and loss of control of the airplane.
