FRA Finalizes Rule to Enhance Passenger Train Emergency Systems

The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) has finalized a rule to improve the safety of passenger train occupants by adding and enhancing requirements for emergency systems, including emergency passage through doors, exit path markings, and emergency lighting, as well as participation in debriefing sessions following emergency situations.
