FAA Issues Special Conditions for Bombardier Airplanes with Side Stick Controllers

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued special conditions for Bombardier Inc.'s BD-500-1A10 and BD-500-1A11 series airplanes, which feature side stick controllers for pitch and roll control. The FAA deems these controllers to pose safety risks and has established additional safety standards to mitigate these risks.
