Navy Amends Certifications and Exemptions for USS PELELIU Under International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, 1972

The US Department of the Navy is updating its exemptions for the USS PELELIU (LHA 5) under the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, 1972, due to the ship's unique construction and purpose, which cannot fully comply with certain provisions without interfering with its naval function, in an effort to warn mariners in applicable waters.
