EPA Amends Exemption for 1,4-Dimethylnaphthalene in Sprouting Root and Tuber Vegetables

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has amended an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for residues of 1,4-dimethylnaphthalene (1,4-DMN), a plant growth regulator, to include all sprouting root and tuber vegetables and all bulb vegetables, eliminating the need to establish a maximum permissible level for residues under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA).
