EPA Finalizes Michigan's Regional Haze State Implementation Plan
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has finalized a State Implementation Plan (SIP) from Michigan, addressing regional haze for the first implementation period, which ended in 2018. The plan meets several requirements, including identifying affected areas and adopting a long-term strategy, but EPA has added emission limits for two sources, St. Marys Cement and Escanaba Paper Company, to ensure compliance with the Clean Air Act.
