EPA Approves Ohio's Plan to Meet Air Quality Standards, Redesignates Area
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has approved Ohio's plan to maintain air quality standards in the state, redesignating the Ohio portion of the Huntington-Ashland nonattainment area to attainment for fine particulate matter. The approval, made under the Clean Air Act, is based on the state's request submitted in 2011 and involves several related actions, including approving the state's emissions inventory and plan for maintaining air quality standards through 2022.
