NHTSA Receives Petition for Importation of Nonconforming 2012 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cars

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has accepted a petition from a company requesting that nonconforming 2012 Mercedes-Benz S-Class passenger cars be allowed to be imported into the US, as they are substantially similar to US-certified vehicles and can be easily modified to meet safety standards.
