FCC Adopts Interim Rules for Internet Protocol Captioned Telephone Service

The Federal Communications Commission has adopted interim rules to prohibit referrals for rewards programs and other inducements to subscribe to or use Internet Protocol Captioned Telephone Service, requiring providers to register new users and obtain certification from a third-party professional, and ensuring equipment has a default setting of captions off.
