FDA Denies Requests for Hearing on Ionizing Radiation for Food Control

The FDA has denied objections and requests for a hearing on the use of ionizing radiation to control food-borne pathogens and extend shelf life in fresh iceberg lettuce and fresh spinach, as proposed in the 2008 final rule.
