FDA Publishes Guidance on Custom Device Exemption for Industry and FDA Staff

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has released a guidance document to help industry and FDA staff understand and implement the custom device exemption under the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act), which allows for the distribution of certain medical devices without FDA premarket approval.
