FDA Filing of Petition for Amendment of Food Additive Regulations for Dog Food

The FDA has announced that it has filed a petition by DSM Nutritional Products to amend food additive regulations, allowing the safe use of Schizochytrium sp. dried algae as a source of docosahexaenoic acid in dog food, a proposal submitted by the company.
