Coast Guard Announces Special Load Line Exemption for Lake Michigan

The U.S. Coast Guard is seeking public comment on a proposal to establish a special route on Lake Michigan, allowing non-load line river barges to transit along the eastern shore between Chicago and Muskegon, similar to an existing exempted route on the western shore.
