Coast Guard Revises Regulations for Los Angeles and Long Beach Harbors
The US Coast Guard is updating its rules for anchoring large vessels in the Los Angeles and Long Beach harbors, California, to reduce congestion and improve safety, following the closure of a submerged material storage site at Commercial Anchorage 'A'. The revised regulations require vessels to obtain extended permission from the Captain of the Port Los Angeles-Long Beach for stays exceeding 48 hours.
