US Forest Service Seeks Extension of National Forest Withdrawal
The US Forest Service has submitted an application to the Bureau of Land Management to extend the withdrawal of 4,921 acres of National Forest System land from mining for an additional 20 years, citing protection of the Elk River Wild and Scenic Corridor's recreational and visual resources.
