USDA Adopts Final Rule for California Date Assessment Rate

The USDA has finalized a rule reducing the assessment rate for California-grown dates from $0.90 to $0.40 per hundredweight, effective for the 2013-2014 fiscal period and beyond, to help the California Date Administrative Committee reduce operating expenses while maintaining adequate funding for program expenses.
