US Department of Agriculture Mandates Independent Review of School Lunch Applications Under the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act

The US Department of Agriculture has issued a final rule requiring local educational agencies participating in the National School Lunch Program to conduct independent reviews of initial eligibility determinations for free and reduced price school meals, in response to amendments made to the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act by the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010.
