HHS Announces Rule to Register Emergency Medical Services Agencies Under the Protecting Patient Access to Emergency Medications Act of 2017

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has announced a rule requiring emergency medical services (EMS) agencies to register with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in order to participate in Medicare and Medicaid programs under the Protecting Patient Access to Emergency Medications Act of 2017 (PPAEMA). The registration process is now open and will be available on the CMS website.
