NMFS Prohibits Pacific Cod Fishing by Catcher/Processors in Gulf of Alaska

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has prohibited directed fishing for Pacific cod by catcher/processors using trawl gear in the Central Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska due to the risk of exceeding the 2013 total allowable catch limit. This measure aims to prevent overfishing in the area.
