EPA Announces Class VI Program for Carbon Dioxide Geologic Sequestration Wells

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is launching a new program to oversee the injection of carbon dioxide into the ground for geologic sequestration, starting on September 7, 2011. States and well owners must submit permit applications to the EPA for approval.
