EPA Proposes Two Options for CAFO Reporting Rule to Improve Water Quality

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing two options to collect basic information from Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs) to support its water quality protection responsibilities under the Clean Water Act (CWA). The goal is to improve and restore water quality by gathering facility-specific data to enhance EPA's ability to effectively implement the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program and ensure CAFO compliance with CWA requirements.
