EPA Finds Portland Generating Station in Violation of Air Quality Standards
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has found that the coal-fired Portland Generating Station, owned by GenOn REMA LLC, in Pennsylvania, is emitting sulfur dioxide in violation of federal air quality standards. The EPA is requiring the station to implement emission limits to address concerns raised by the State of New Jersey, which submitted a petition in 2010.
