EPA Extends Public Comment Period for Vanadium Pentoxide Toxicological Review

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has extended the public comment period for its draft toxicological review of vanadium pentoxide, a chemical used in various industrial applications, from 60 days to 90 days at the request of the Vanadium Producers and Reclaimers Association, in response to concerns raised by the industry. The review, which was initially scheduled for release in September 2011, is now set to be completed by December 8, 2011, and will undergo independent peer review before being finalized.
