EPA Announces Annual Adjustment Factors for Excess Emissions Penalty under Acid Rain Program

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a notice stating the annual adjustment factors for excess emissions penalties in the Acid Rain Program, which automatically impose penalties in dollars per ton of excess emissions on sources that fail to meet their annual emissions limitations, adjusted annually based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for compliance years 2011 and 2012.
