EPA Publishes Draft Vessel General Permits for Discharges Incidental to Vessel Normal Operation

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is soliciting public comment on two draft general permits: one for vessels greater than or equal to 79 feet in length and another for vessels less than 79 feet in length. The proposed permits would replace existing permits and authorize discharges incidental to vessel normal operation, with the goal of streamlining permitting processes and reducing regulatory burdens on the maritime industry.
