EPA Finalizes Federal Implementation Plans for Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin to Address Ozone Emissions
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has concluded that emissions from Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin significantly contribute to downwind nonattainment or interfere with maintenance of the 1997 ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) in other states. The EPA is finalizing Federal Implementation Plans (FIPs) to address emissions in these states, except for Kansas, for which a FIP is not being finalized at this time.
