U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Proposes Amendment to Spent Fuel Storage Cask Regulations

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission is proposing to update its regulations for storing spent nuclear fuel by revising the Holtec International HI-STORM 100 dry cask storage system, which will include a new multipurpose canister and expanded approval for certain reactor fuel assemblies.
