Fuel Oil Systems for Emergency Power Supplies

On July 5, 2012 (77 FR 39745), the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the Commission) issued Draft Regulatory Guide, DG- 1282, "Fuel Oil Systems for Emergency Power Supplies," in the Federal Register for a 60 day public comment period. The NRC is extending the public comment period for DG-1282 from August 31, 2012 to September 28, 2012. This guide describes a method that the NRC staff considers acceptable for use in complying with the Commission's requirements regarding fuel oil systems for safety-related emergency diesel generators and oil-fueled gas turbine generators, including assurance of adequate fuel oil quality.
