FCC Extends Outage Reporting Requirements to Interconnected VoIP and Broadband Providers

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has extended its rules requiring outage reporting from interconnected Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service providers and broadband Internet service providers, focusing on complete loss of service, while deferring action on reporting outages of broadband services where service is technically available but communication is hindered.
