FDA Extends Comment Period for Food Allergen Thresholds Notice

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is extending the comment period for a notice on establishing food allergen thresholds until May 13, 2013, in response to a request from an industry association. The FDA is seeking comments to inform a risk assessment for setting regulatory thresholds for major food allergens, as mandated by the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act of 2004 (FALCPA).
