EPA Proposes National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants from Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional Boilers
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing national emission standards for controlling hazardous air pollutants from industrial boilers and commercial and institutional boilers, with a focus on reducing mercury emissions from coal-fired boilers and polycyclic organic matter emissions from all boilers. The proposed standards also clarify that gas-fired boilers are not required to meet a 90% emissions reduction target under the Clean Air Act.
