HHS Proposes New Fluoride Concentration Guidance for Drinking Water
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is seeking public comment on proposed new guidance for fluoride concentrations in drinking water to prevent dental caries. The proposed guidance aims to update the 1962 U.S. Public Health Service Drinking Water Standards, which recommended optimal fluoride concentrations based on ambient air temperature and ranged from 0.7-1.2 mg/L.
