NIOSH Collaborates with NTEA-AMD to Develop Ambulance Component Test Standards

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), in collaboration with the National Truck Equipment Association, Ambulance Manufacturers Division (NTEA-AMD), is developing a proposed test standard for ambulance components, with the goal of improving patient and litter retention during crash conditions. The testing process, which is expected to take approximately 15 months, will involve evaluating existing, redesigned, and/or new litters to validate the proposed test methods.
