FMCSA Eliminates DVIR Requirement for Intermodal Equipment
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has eliminated the requirement for drivers operating intermodal equipment to submit and intermodal equipment providers to retain driver-vehicle inspection reports when no defects are found. This change was made in response to a joint petition from the Ocean Carrier Equipment Management Association (OCEMA) and the Institute of International Container Lessors (IICL).
