Medicare Program; FY 2027 Inpatient Psychiatric Facilities Prospective Payment System-Rate Update

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has finalized a rule updating payment rates, outlier thresholds, and wage indexes for Medicare inpatient psychiatric facilities, effective October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027. The changes also refine the outlier policy and implement a standardized patient assessment instrument.
