CFPB Finalizes Amendments to Consumer Leasing Regulations

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and the Federal Reserve Board are updating the dollar threshold for exempt consumer leases under the Consumer Leasing Act, increasing it from $69,500 to $71,900 starting January 1, 2025, in line with the annual percentage increase in the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) as of June 1, 2024.
