NMFS Prohibits Pacific Cod Fishing in Western Gulf of Alaska

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has prohibited directed fishing for Pacific cod by vessels using pot gear in the Western Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska to prevent exceeding the annual catch allowance for vessels using pot gear in the area, as allocated in the 2012 Pacific cod total allowable catch.
