NMFS Proposes 2012 Pacific Whiting Fishery Rule Under Magnuson-Stevens Act and Pacific Whiting Act of 2006
The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has issued a proposed rule for the 2012 Pacific whiting fishery, allocating 17.5% of the total allowable catch to tribal fisheries under the Magnuson-Stevens Act and the Pacific Whiting Act of 2006. The proposed rule also outlines a process for reallocating unused tribal catch to non-tribal fisheries.
