NMFS Prohibits Pacific Cod Fishing by Catcher Vessels in Gulf of Alaska

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has prohibited directed fishing for Pacific cod by catcher vessels using trawl gear in the Central Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska, in order to prevent exceeding the allocated catch allowance for the 2012 Pacific cod total allowable catch.
