The US Department of the Navy, in cooperation with the US Marine Corps and Bureau of Land Management, plans to prepare a Legislative Environmental Impact Statement (L-EIS) for the proposed extension of the Chocolate Mountain Aerial Gunnery Range Land Withdrawal, which covers approximately 226,711 acres of public land in California. The extension would allow continued military use of the range, pending public review and approval.
